2022- 2024

During my time as a student, I also held pretty rigorous work commitments. On the days I didn't have class, I was working 6+ hour shifts at Starbucks. While this kept me busy, I was able to hone my organizational skills by maintaining a well-structured schedule, effectively managing both academic and professional obligations.

Working in this environment also allowed me to use my creativity and artistic skills by designing eye-catching signs and seasonal displays. I enjoyed crafting unique, hand-drawn illustrations (below) and lettering that enhanced the store’s ambiance, made customers smile, and brought each season's theme to life, showcasing my passion for art in a fun, dynamic environment.

CHICK-FIL-A

2020- 2022

In the early days—and even through the middle—of my time as a student at SPCC, I spent much of my week working at my local Chick-fil-A. This wasn’t just a job; it was a formative experience. The culture there thrives on strong work ethic, initiative, and a proactive mindset. Putting in 20 to 25 hours each week, I found that the discipline I built behind the counter began to mirror itself in the classroom. My ability to take initiative as a student was deeply shaped by that environment; I often credit Chick-fil-A as the foundation of my professional habits.

Balancing school and work wasn’t always easy, but it was incredibly rewarding. Chick-fil-A offered me more than just a paycheck—it gave me a community, a sense of independence, and a chance to grow into new responsibilities. In many ways, the lessons I learned in that fast-paced kitchen ran parallel to those I learned in classrooms, creating a rhythm that shaped both who I was as a worker and who I became as a student.
